of committed surfers across California, Indonesia, and the Gold Coast, all from our HQ.

You’re given a templated programme, a handful of videos, and very little context for how it
actually applies to your surfing.
That isn’t how we work.
Surf Performance Systems delivers high-performance remote coaching. We act as your
strength coach, your movement specialist, and a key part of your wider performance setup.
We assess how you move.
We look at your physical strengths, limitations, and injury history.
We factor in your lifestyle, training background, recovery, and constraints.
Your programme isn’t static. It evolves as you do.
We don’t just send workouts.
We manage your physical preparation so your surfing can progress.
Our coaching follows a clear, structured process.

Before we prescribe any training, we need to understand the full picture.
We look at:
- How you move – basic movement quality, mobility, stability, and strength capacity (via video where appropriate)
- Your training history – what you’ve done before, what’s worked, and what hasn’t
- Injury history – past and current issues that need to be respected
- Your current routine – how often you surf, how you train now, and what your week realistically looks like
- Capacity and constraints – time available, recovery, work and life stressors
- Physical qualities – strength levels, cardiovascular conditioning, body composition, and
work capacity
If you have surf footage, great. It can help add context. If not, it’s not a problem. This is not
surf technique coaching.
The aim here is to understand how your physical inputs are supporting or limiting your surfing.
Once we understand where you are, we build a plan that fits your goals and your reality.
This isn’t a template. It’s a structured training plan designed around you.
Your programme will focus on:
- Building the physical qualities you actually need
- Addressing limitations that are holding you back
- Improving robustness and resilience alongside performance
Training is delivered through our coaching app, with clear session structure, video demonstrations, and simple guidance on intent and execution.
This is where the real value sits.

We manage progress through:
- Regular check-ins around how training is feeling
- Monitoring training loads and recovery
- Reviewing lifting technique via video where needed
- Adjusting sessions based on feedback, fatigue, or changes in surf volume
- Ongoing communication through our private WhatsApp group
